Bronwen Griffiths is the author of two published novels – A Bird in the House, 2014 and Here Casts No Shadow, 2018, and a book of short fictions, Not Here, Not Us – Stories of Syria. Her flashes have been published by Bath Flash Fiction, Barren Magazine, Spelk and Reflex Fiction, among others. She currently lives on the East Sussex/Kent border.
Both real and fantastical, this collection of flash fictions explores the author’s childhood in the 1960’s. These are stories of family life and the wider community of the village of Belbroughton in North Worcestershire, as well as the social changes of this time.
‘It’s true that if my brother was an angel I wouldn’t have to fight over the cake mixture. But then I do need someone to fetch my scissors for me and step in the dog poo on the pavement.’
