Nigel Green is a photographer, artist and lecturer. He has exhibited and published photographic projects that document genres of modernist architecture in the UK and Europe.
'Located in the region of Upper Silesia in southern Poland, Katowice forms the centre of the Silesian metropolitan area, an association of 14 adjacent towns and cities that comprise one of the largest urban areas in the EU.These photographs taken in 2015 and 2016 record the remnants of the Soviet city in the process of transition to its new identity and represent the collision of ideological, economic and political models that architecture and space come to signify.'
